Client accounts and platform access

Some Homeground services require access to client platforms such as websites, social media accounts, advertising platforms, email marketing systems or other business software.

Where you provide Homeground with access to an account, that access will only be used for the purpose of delivering the services you have engaged Homeground to perform.

Where possible, I recommend providing Homeground with separate user access, collaborator access or appropriate permissions rather than sharing your primary password.

Access will not knowingly be provided to another person unless they are involved in delivering your project and require that access to perform their work.

Payments

If you make a payment to Homeground, payment information may be processed by banks, accounting software or third-party payment providers.

Homeground does not intentionally store complete credit or debit card details unless required as part of a secure payment service designed for that purpose.

Payment providers handle information in accordance with their own privacy policies and security practices.

If you subscribe to Homeground emails or otherwise agree to receive marketing communications, I may use your contact details to send you useful information, business updates, marketing content, offers or information about Homeground services.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link provided in an email or by contacting Homeground.

Unsubscribing from marketing communications will not stop important project, account, invoice or service-related communications.

Contractors and specialists

Homeground is a person-led business, but specialists or contractors may occasionally be brought into a project where their skills are required.

This might include developers, photographers, videographers, designers, advertising specialists or other suppliers.

Where they need access to personal or business information to complete their work, I will only provide information reasonably necessary for their role.

Overseas services

Like most Australian businesses using online software, Homeground may use service providers that store or process information outside Australia.

These may include website, cloud storage, email, analytics, social media, advertising and business software providers. Information may therefore be processed in countries including the United States and other countries in which those providers operate.

Where reasonably possible, Homeground selects established service providers and uses available privacy and security controls.

I take reasonable steps to protect information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

These measures may include password protection, access controls, multi-factor authentication and using reputable service providers.

No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

If you believe information you have provided to Homeground may have been compromised, please contact me as soon as possible.

Personal information is kept for as long as reasonably required to:

  • provide services

  • manage the client relationship

  • maintain project records

  • meet accounting, tax, insurance and legal requirements

  • resolve disputes

  • protect legitimate business interests.

When information is no longer reasonably required, I may securely delete, destroy or de-identify it where appropriate.

Some project, financial and business records may need to be retained for longer periods to meet legal or regulatory requirements.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can contact Homeground if you would like to:

  • know what personal information I hold about you

  • request access to that information

  • correct information that is inaccurate or out of date

  • raise a concern about how your information has been handled.

I may need to verify your identity before providing access to personal information.

There may be circumstances where access cannot be provided. If that happens, I will explain why where reasonably possible and appropriate.

Privacy complaints

If you have a concern about how Homeground has handled your personal information, please contact me first so I can look into it.

I will review the issue and aim to respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Where the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) applies and you are not satisfied with the response, you may also have the right to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

I do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through the Homeground website.

Australian privacy laws

Homeground aims to handle personal information responsibly and in accordance with applicable Australian privacy laws.

Where Homeground Marketing is required to comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, personal information will be handled in accordance with those requirements.

This Privacy Policy may be updated occasionally to reflect changes to Homeground's services, technology, business practices or legal obligations.

The latest version will be published on the Homeground Marketing website with the date it was last updated.
